What is an EPC Report?

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) measures the energy efficiency of a property on a scale of A-G. 

An EPC for residential properties will contain information on its energy use and carbon dioxide emissions. The report will also contain recommended suggestions to reduce energy use and carbon dioxide emissions at the property.   

EPC reports are a legal requirement for a building to be sold, let or constructed in the United Kingdom.

What is involved in an EPC survey?

Our energy assessor will need to access all rooms in the property as well as the loft. They will also be required to inspect heating systems and controls, take measurements and take photographs of all key data included in the survey. 

The survey typically will take between 45 mins - 1 hour to complete dependant on the size of the property. 

Once the EPC has been produced by our assessor, it will be lodged to the central register and a report reference number (RRN) along with a link will be sent to the client for download. 

Once an EPC has been obtained, it will be valid for 10 years from the point of registration.
